As Rosättra Boat Yard’s top model, the Linjett 43 is one of the biggest achievements that Mats Gustafsson and his professional boatbuilders have accomplished in design and development. Unlike any other racing cruiser in the market, when the Linjett 43 was launched in 2016 it offered a unique special feature that allowed the boat to run aground at 8 knots without sustaining any damage. This original safety solution was a game changer for boats sailing in the Swedish archipelago, where running aground and hitting debris at sea is a common occurrence. This new solution (together with other innovative onboard smart features) resulted in the Linjett 43 being named Sweden’s “Sailboat of the Year” in the Cruising category and cementing Rosättra’s successful reputation for building high quality yachts on a small scale.

Exterior
With a timeless design, the Linjett 43 does not follow today’s yachting trends - she has her own elegant style, and yet when you get on board and sail her, you immediately recognise how modern she is. There are practical and integrated simple-yet-smart solutions to be found everywhere onboard that are designed to make sailing safer and more comfortable. The windows mounted in the hull give the yacht a special character, and from the inside you will feel more connected to the outside world.
The helmsman can manage the whole system from his location in the cockpit, and the crew can move about easily without any hazards in the cockpit. The 55hp motor is operated with a joystick from the steering pedestal, and it is a special feeling of safety to know you can keep control of the boat with just your thumb and forefinger.
The unique design of the Linjett 43 allows the boat to run aground at maximum speed without damaging the hull. Fitted with a lifting keel, when you hit ground or sea debris, the force is absorbed by the keel partially inverting back into its drum and the rudder is designed to break off, therefore preventing the whole rudder being ripped out and damaging the advanced control system.
Interior
When journalists from Yacht Magazine tested the Linjett 43, they were impressed at the perfection, the detailed solutions and the custom rib bottoms in the bunks. They also noted the cleverly placed windows kept the horizon perfectly in the centre and every detail of design onboard had been done with an impressive attention to detail – a hallmark for every Rosättra custom-made yacht.
For great cruising, it is all about comfort and well-being and safety on board. Part of that requires having access to electricity, and with the rapid developments in technology, the Linjett 43 accommodated all that innovation with a cabin top adapted for 350W solar cells and four maintenance-free 100A AGM batteries coming as standard.

Impressive Control

Rig & Sails
Balance and control stand out when sailing the Linjett 43. The mast from Seldén has double swept spreaders, with a 25-degree angle. Her relatively large sail area makes her quick and able to go high into the wind, while the stiff hull gives her stability and smoothness. The optimally tuned steering system and the balance of the helm results in a great sailing experience.
The Linjett 43 is optimised to be sailed single-handed. All functions are within arm's length of the helmsman, including winches, halyards, reef lines and sheets. Therefore, she is very modern in her features and simple to manage while sailing.
One feature that is widely appreciated is that our Linjett yachts’ can all be fitted with a self-tacking jib with a 110% overlap, which works just as well partially unfurled as fully out.
Lifting Keel
The Linjett 43's keel construction has attracted a lot of attention, because while the concept of a lift keel is not a new design feature, the idea of running aground with one was previously impossible, until the Linjett 43. The keel goes from 2.45m to 1.95m at the push of a button and allows access to the very finest natural harbours in the shallow archipelagos of Sweden.
When the keel blade is lowered, it automatically locks in through its own weight and is safe and immobile even in extreme weather conditions. During a grounding on a Linjett 43, the impact will make the keel swing backwards and back up the drum, which absorbs enough of the boat's moving energy to avoid damaging the yacht. Comprehensive testing in speeds up to 8kts show no damage to the yacht at all.
The rudder has also been designed to withstand grounding, with the bottom third built to be sacrificed in the event of a grounding, and therefore avoiding damage to the advanced steering system or losing the whole rudder. By keeping a part of the rudder intact, you are still able to bring the boat safely in even after the accident.
